Clay Pot Cooking
Centuries Old Brought Up To Date

Soak the baker for about 15 minutes and always put a Romertopf in a cold oven and then turn it on. With an electric oven you can turn it up to the temp needed as they heat up gradually, but if you are using a gas oven you have to turn it up a little at a time like 150 degree's at a time as gas ovens heat up very quickly.
Always when removing the Romertopf place it on a towel...never place it on a cold surface as it will crack it.

TASTY SANDWICHES
If you enjoy grilled sandwiches, you may want to invest in an electric or stovetop griddle, which will allow you to grill four to six sandwiches at a time. When assembling sandwiches ahead, spread them with butter or margarine to seal the bread and keep the meat's moisture from being absorbed into the bread.

Enhance a sandwich with toppings such as guacamole, salsa, cheese spreads, mayonnaise, Swiss cheese, blue cheese, sauteed mushrooms or strips of crisp bacon.
