Clay Pot Cooking
Centuries Old Brought Up To Date

This is Model 110

Soak the baker for about 15 minutes and always put a Romertopf in a cold oven and then turn it on. With an electric oven you can turn it up to the temp needed as they heat up gradually, but if you are using a gas oven you have to turn it up a little at a time like 150 degree's at a time as gas ovens heat up very quickly.
Always when removing the Romertopf place it on a towel...never place it on a cold surface as it will crack it.

THICKENING PAN JUICES
FROM BRAISED BEEF

Remove meat to a warm serving platter; skim fat from pan juices. Measure juices and transfer to a saucepan. For each cup of juices, combine 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour and 1/3 cup cold water until smooth.

Stir flour mixture into pan; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened, adding additional water if necessary. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
